I am a rising senior at the University of Maryland College Park, achieving two degrees in American history and another in Government & Politics. History has been my passion since I was in high school, however the 2012 American Presidential Elections ignited my passion for politics. This past summer, I interned with a government office in my home state of New Jersey and obtained first-hand experience interacting with political candidates and organizing campaigns. I hope to continue this love of government after graduation by conducting work on state level political campaigns and maybe working on Presidential elections one day!
As a student at Maryland, I am an active member of Greek fraternity and sorority life where I hold multiple leadership positions. Beginning in the fall, I will also be leading one of the largest fundraising events on campus to benefit cancer research and survivors. Above all, I am a student and a scholar. My academic achievements are my greatest honor, the greatest being my publication with Lap Lambert Publishing's series on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in the spring of 2014.
Like I said, I am from New Jersey and live on the beach. I am very close with my large Irish-American family and they are my biggest support system. While I have never studied abroad before, I had the opportunity to travel through England and Ireland during my spring break. While there, I fell in love with the ideas of engaging with new cultures and countries and could not be more excited for this opportunity with the Salzburg Academy and all my fellow scholars this summer!
