Margot Igland Skarpeteig, Norway
Margot Igland Skarpeteig is a senior adviser of Norad, the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation, the technical arm of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She has specialized in economic and social rights, and her focus is at the intersection of research and practical support for human rights and development. Ms. Skarpeteig is also a part-time lecturer and supervisor in Political Geography and Development Studies at the University of Oslo, and she has published a number of peer reviewed articles on human rights and development. She has previously worked as a diplomat in Ethiopia, as a researcher in social sciences at the University of Bergen and the University of Agder, and as a human rights adviser in the Norwegian Human Rights Fund.
