Sylvie Matherat

Chief Regulatory Officer, Member of the Management Board, Deutsche Bank AG, Frankfurt

Sylvie Matherat became a member of Deutsche Bank's Management Board on November 1, 2015. She is the bank's chief regulatory officer in charge of Regulation, Compliance, Anti-Financial Crime and the Business Selection and Conflicts Office. In addition to her role at Deutsche Bank, she has recently been elected chair of the Global Financial Markets Association. Sylvie joined Deutsche Bank in 2014 as global head of government & regulatory affairs. Sylvie came from Banque de France where she was deputy director general and responsible for regulation and financial stability issues, payment and settlement infrastructures, banking services, and the Target 2 Securities project. She was also member of the Basel Committee, chair of its liquidity group, member of the BIS Committee on Payment and Settlement Systems (CPSS) and of the ECB Payment and Settlement Systems Committee (PSSC). She previously held various positions at the French Banking Supervisory Authority, where she was in particular in charge of Basel 2 implementation and IFRS application, and in the private sector. She was awarded the Legion d'Honneur in 2014. Sylvie studied public law and finance at the Institut dĀ“Etudes Politique de Paris, France, and holds a master degree in law and political sciences. Sylvie is a Fellow of Salzburg Global Seminar.
