I am a year three student now studying English and Communication at Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University in Suzhou, in China. The courses I study at university include journalism, global media, translation and interpreting as well. I am interested in media theories, how these theories develop and improve with the continuous development of the world in order to better serve people and society; I also like philosophy and literature. I do much reading on English Literature; I study philosophy especially the existential philosophy by myself. I appreciate the perspective that global media and journalism usually have which is objective, authentic, forward-looking, comprehensive and global. So I desire to go further study on media and philosophy after graduating from university. These knowledge make me realize that we should not merely content with the existing situation and only care about our own development and future; the diffusion of diverse knowledge and the perspectives we form are rely on media to a large extent nowadays, and that's why I want to work on jobs concerned with media fields like the publishing or journalism in the future, to better spread the truth and intercultural knowledge for people to identify better about themselves and the outside world.
