Biography:
May Rihani is senior vice president and director of the Global Learning Group and the Center for Gender Equity of the Academy for Educational Development in Washington, DC. Known for designing flagship projects in the fields of girls' education, basic education, women's issues, gender equity, community participation, and social mobilization in support of education, Ms. Rihani is also the former senior vice president of Creative Associates International and former vice president of the TransCentury Foundation, both in Washington, DC. She is the author of "Learning for the Twenty-First Century: Strategies for Improving Girls' Education in the Middle East and North Africa," and co-author of "Forward Looking Strategies on Education." Ms. Rihani holds an M.A. in political science from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon.
