The Global Prevention of Genocide: Learning from the Holocaust
Summary
This multi-year initiative is aimed at connecting the fields of Holocaust education, human rights, and genocide prevention. As part of the initiative we are developing an extensive network of educators, policy makers and experts who are active in these three fields and are working with us to develop interdisciplinary programs that contribute to the prevention of genocide and its precursors.
2011 Working Group
To ensure the optimal development and execution of this initiative, in 2011 we are continuing the dialogues that began at the 2010 conference with a small, select group of experts from the fields of Holocaust education, human rights, and genocide prevention. This group is working with us to
to assess the current status of the fields of Holocaust education, human rights and genocide prevention and identify best practices, and brainstorm new approaches. We expect that the results of the working group’s efforts will be presented at a large international conference that we will hold in Salzburg in June 2012.
